"Really tiny. I know it's a "pocket" haiku, but this is like for a troll's pocket. Astonishingly expensive for what it is."

The Pocket Haiku Sam Hamill 9781611807004 Books Reviews
- I love all kinds of poetry with the exception of some long, boring, and incoherent free verse poems. I have a passion for shorter poems with a clear and understandable theme. This is why my favorite poetry form is haiku. I have read just about every book I could find on haiku and I recently picked up this volume. This small 126 page “Pocket Haiku†translated by Sam Hamill focuses on the three giants of this poetry form. They are Basho, who is the most famous haiku creator, along with Buson and Issa.
This small volume also has haiku from a few other poets. The great thing about this Shambhala pocket classic is that you can easily carry it with you and enjoy the poetry where ever you happen to be at the time. Another interesting thing I discovered was how many different translations there seems to be when it comes to Japanese haiku poems. I have read numerous other volumes of haiku from Basho and noticed some of the translations in this book are a little different from what I have read in other haiku books.
If you love haiku you should check out this pocket classic. A great read.
